THIS IS WHAT I DO
I make one-off original sculptural ceramic vessels. I mostly coil and pinch, because then it feels like I am busy drawing in three dimensions. My focus is on the creation of high quality art pieces, rather than large numbers of simplified forms. I enjoy doing collaborations with design professionals, but within the scope of my particular aesthetic.
I make memory vessels, where I explore the things that occupy my mind. When the work is complete, the end user can ascribe their own meaning to it.
ABOUT ME
I was born in the Eastern Cape of South Africa and have lived in Cape Town for the past 40 years. I have a BAFA from the University of Stellenbosch. Since 1992 I have focused primarily on the production of fine art ceramics.
MY STUDIO is situated in the heart of Cape Town, which makes it very accessible for professionals in the design industry, as well as art collectors and tourists. International freight is not a problem.
